What is it? Folic acid is a B vitamin which helps to support your body as it makes red blood cells. The NHS suggests that women who are trying to become pregnant or are in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy take daily folic acid supplements. Folic acid is very important for a developing foetus and can help to reduce the chances of neural tube defects (NTDs), such as spina bifida.

It’s perfect for women who are in the first trimester ( first 12 weeks of pregnancy) or are trying to conceive. During this period, it’s important that you are eating a healthy balanced diet as well as taking a folic acid supplement. You can also include folate-rich foods in your diet such as green vegetables like broccoli, cabbage, beans, and peas; and fruits such as oranges. However, once you passed 12 weeks of pregnancy or if you are breast feeding, speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this product, to be sure that this is safe for both you and your baby.

Dosage: Adults: Take One Tablet Daily, preferably with food or liquid
